From Ship to Shore: Greenwich

On the banks of the River Thames, outside of the hustle and bustle of London is Greenwich. This ship in the bottle, a smaller version of the 19th century British ship, sits outside the National Maritime Museum. The actual restored version sits off the River Thames. This is only a small portion of what Greenwich has to offer. A nice view of greater London sits right outside the amazing classical buildings of the Old Royal Naval College where I immediately got lost in its cavernous halls. An even better view can be had from above at the the Royal Observatory, the site of the Greenwich meridian line. I found this a nice detour from London for a day and a nice place to have lunch, at a nearby pub of course.
